Dave was my 9 and a half year old rescue Boston Terrier. He was from a puppymill originally, and met none of the AKC standards for a Boston - he was tall and muscular, but had that Boston personality through and through.

Dave was diagnosed with stage Vb lymphosarcoma on January 29th, 2008. The prognosis, assuming chemo was successful, was nine months - October 2008. He quickly went into remission, and was a trooper through his five months of weekly chemo treatment. He remained in remission until September 22, 2008, when we were informed that the cancer had returned. We decided to treat with the combination of holistics, Prednisone and love, and he was given a two month prognosis. At that time, he was alive and well, and continued that way for many more months. Dave crossed the rainbow bridge on May 11th.

dino-mite week!

Dave is truly living up to his sticker this week. He's been 100% fine, which is a relief. With the nice weather today, he is looking forward to a couple of walks and some milling around in the backyard. He already was out for a while this morning, enjoying the sun.

His protocol this week will be the same, so hopefully there will be the same result. We made a slight change in our plans for the week: Mike had been switching his day off (it rotates each week, one week it's Sunday/Monday, the next Sunday/Tuesday, etc), but this upcoming weekend is his three day weekend, which he gets every six weeks. Because he enjoys consecutive days off, I changed my work schedule to drop Dave off at 7:30 am. This involves me getting up way earlier than usual. I am not a morning person, so the next two weeks should be interesting.
